Job Summary: Sr. Textile Designer Home

AXNY Home is seeking an experienced designer who specializes in print and textile design, technical design and product development. This role follows all textile categories through the product design and development lifecycle ensuring design accuracy and integrity at all design & development touch points delivering best in class product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design home collections based on concept direction, and in collaboration with the Design Director
• Work closely and collaborate with the design, merchandising, and sales teams to develop artwork and prints each season
• Have an in-depth understanding of fabric qualities, constructions, techniques and manufacturing and how they affect price points, and end use.
• Exceptional color sense, skilled in utilizing seasonal color palettes to create modern colorings within print designs
• Skillfully color separate artworks, reducing colors to meet screen or fabric limitations while preserving intended aesthetic

• Collaborate with PD partners on developments and pricing.

• Generate all specs, BOM, and tech packs including initial product development, color guides, re-designs and revisions for production.
• Communicate directly with factories and / or agents.
• Research industry trends to fuel design inspiration, new collection and category ideas.
• Create presentations for internal and external use

• Assist with showroom set-up.

Qualifications:

• 5 years textile experience, with a BA in textile design or a related field.
• Background in creating designs, repeats, and color separations.
• Must be skilled at hand drawing/painting, including digital formats
• Experience in developing print/textile product with factories - understanding of product development from concept through commercialization
• Expert in Adobe Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
• Strong time management skills and an ability to prioritize work and juggle multiple tasks.
• Previous experience in the Home Textile Industry is required

Salary: $80k- $110k annually, depending on experience
